Faucet Installation

Faucet is the most common water fixture in your house. You most probably have 4 or 6 of them in your kitchen, bathroom. United HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical provides faucet installation for kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor fixtures across the Bay Area, including San Jose, Santa Clara, Saratoga and other Bay Area cities. We remove handles, replace supply lines, testing the system.

25+ Years Installing Faucets Across the Bay Area

What Is Professional Faucet Installation and When Do You Need It?

Professional faucet installation means removing the old faucet, connecting new supply lines and angle stop valves under the sink, and confirming pressure and drainage. You need it when a faucet leaks at the base, won’t hold a temperature set. Most basic faucets are installed in one to two hours.

Types of Faucets We Install

Kitchen faucet installation covers single-hole pull-down, bridge-style, and pre-rinse units. Bathroom faucet installation includes centerset, widespread, and wall-mount fixtures, and shower faucet installation covers single-handle, two-handle, and thermostatic valve systems accessed through a wall panel. Most of models are Moen, Kohler or Glacier Bay. Sometimes we see European Hansgrohe models.

Signs It’s Time to Replace Your Faucet

A faucet dripping at the base after shutoff usually means broken cartridge. Hard-water buildup, common in older San Jose and Santa Clara homes, corrodes internal valves until repair parts aren’t worth installing. A loose handle or a unit predating 1994 low-flow standards generally means replacement is better than repair.

How Faucet Installation Works: What to Expect on Service Day

You set up an appointment with our call center or online on the web site. Our plumber arrives with the new faucet, or installs one you’ve purchased.  He shuts off the water, removes the old fixture, and connects the new faucet with new supply lines. We cannot use old supply lines to a new faucet. The visit usually takes one to two hours and ends with a pressure and leak check, with no demolition needed for a standard sink-mounted replacement.

Pre-Installation Assessment and Shutoff Verification

Before removing anything, plumber check the angle stop valves under the sink. In homes built before the 1980s these valves are often corroded or seized and may need replacing first. Therefore, we have to locate main shut off valve as well. We also confirm rough-in spacing and hole count match the new fixture before starting.

Installation, Testing, and Final Calibration

Once the old unit is removed, we install new supply lines, seat the faucet body, and connect it to the angle stop valves. We then run hot and cold water at full pressure, checking every connection for leaks and confirming the handle calibrates correctly. Pull-down and touch-activated models also get a spray-function and sensor check.

Faucet Installation Cost in the Bay Area

That’s the most common question. Faucet installation in the Bay Area typically runs from $300–$800 in labor for a standard kitchen or bathroom swap. Price depends on faucet type and whether the hole configuration is changing. We quote a flat rate at a job site before work begins.

Factors That Affect the Final Price

Factors That Affect the Final Price

Swapping one single-hole kitchen faucet for another is usually simple, since the rough-in already matches. Converting a three-hole setup to single-hole, or installing a heavier faucet needing added support, adds labor and sometimes a deck plate. Corroded valves or disconnecting a garbage disposal during a sink faucet installation also raise the cost. If we do multiple jobs at one visit we can offer a discount. Members with United’s “Home protection plan” get 10% member’s discount.

Supply-Only vs. Supply-and-Install: What’s the Difference?

Supply-and-install pricing covers the faucet plus labor and the visit, useful for one quote covering the whole job. Supply-only pricing applies when you’ve already bought a faucet and need installation labor only — common for kitchen sink faucet installation tied to a remodel. We confirm fit with your countertop cutout and sink configuration either way.

Why Bay Area Homeowners Choose United HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical for Faucet Installation

Licensed, Insured, and Local

We train our plumbers weekly. Our team holds a California C-36 plumbing license, so the work meets state code for water supply connections. Insurance protects you financially if a connection fails or a fixture is damaged mid-job. Being Bay Area–based, we know the shutoff valve conditions in typical of homes in Sunnyvale, Belmont, Atherton, Foster city, San Jose and other Bay Area cities.

25+ Years Installing Faucets Across the Bay Area

Our technicians and supervisors installed and replaced faucets in Bay Area homes for more than 25 years. That history means we catch compatibility issues before they become a return trip, like a faucet that won’t seat against a granite cutout. Most faucet installation services we perform need no second visit.

Same-Day Service With Upfront Flat-Rate Pricing

Most new faucet installation requests are scheduled same-day or the next morning, since a broken faucet isn’t something most households want to live with. Before work starts, after assessing the work we give a flat-rate price based on faucet type and what we find during the pre-installation check, not an estimate that shifts mid-job. That price covers labor, standard supply lines, and a leak check. Although our call canter and service back office aware of plumbing services we don’t provide prices over the phone.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my new faucet dripping immediately after installation?

A new faucet dripping right after installation is usually a loose supply line connection, a misseated aerator, or a cartridge that wasn't fully engaged — rarely a defect in the faucet itself. Tightening the connections or reseating the cartridge typically fixes it. We run a pressure and leak test before calling any installation complete.

Do I need to replace my angle stop valves when I get a new faucet?

Almost always, if the valves are more than 15–20 years old, corroded, or hard to turn, we recommend replacing them in the same visit. A new faucet on a failing valve often means a leak or a second service call within months. Replacing both together avoids a separate trip later.

Can you install a faucet I already purchased from a retail store?

Yes, we can install faucets homeowners bought themselves in retail stores or online. Before the appointment, we confirm the model. This is typically billed as a supply-only installation.

What is the difference between a ceramic disc and a compression valve?

A compression valve uses a rubber washer that tightens against a seat to stop flow — the older design, prone to dripping as the washer wears. A ceramic disc valve uses two interlocking discs that rotate to control flow and rarely needs washer replacement, making it standard in most modern faucets. A compression-valve faucet that drips often is usually due for replacement.

Can I change a three-hole faucet to a single-hole model?

Yes, but it typically needs a deck plate or escutcheon to cover the two unused holes in the countertop or sink deck. Sometimes it goes with a new sink installation.
